Go Book
Everything that’s missing from your passport
Shipped | Role: From concept to sale
Go Book is a personal project started after getting back from our annual adventure with friends. Before leaving for the trip I had to update a couple of vaccinations and looked forever for something more durable than the basic yellow card, the International-recognized personal document to record vaccinations and immunizations.
I didn’t find one, so I thought about making my own.
Over the course of the trip, we wondered what other valuable pieces of information someone would want to carry with them; things that aren’t carried in a passport.
THE CUSTOMER
Passport holders who carry around supplemental documents to feel prepared as possible
THE CHALLENGE
So many little numbers and notes make up our identity and sense of self. This feeling is magnified when traveling away from home. Credit card numbers, frequent flier numbers, health insurance, passport details, flight numbers… it’s a lot to keep track of.
For some people, getting ready for a trip can be stressful. Tickets, reservations, places to go, and people to see. What should I bring? What if something happens?
For a lot of folks, this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip who want to make sure nothing goes wrong, and for others it’s just another work trip who can’t afford for anything to be forgotten.
What if we could create a miniature catalog of all those small, but important pieces of information where you just had once place to reference them from?
THE SOLUTION
That little yellow piece of card stock was starting to show its age. After being folded and unfolded, carried through humid landscapes, and scribbled on, I thought about just making a softcover booklet of la carte jeune {{TK link}}.
After taking inventory of all the tiny pieces of information that I’d like to carry with me, I settled on:
– Basic contact info, including modern methods like social accounts
– Allergy information
– Prescription information
– Doctor’s contact info
– Health insurance info
– A travel log of the places you go in-between the passport stamps
– Travel membership numbers
– Room for contact info of people you meet along the way

RESULTS
After tens of revisions, print tests, translation, proofreading, and a little help from friends, I launched the book for sale this past summer with two related book projects brewing for the future.
